Look to the Hot Flashes
Look at when you're having your hot flashes. Is there something stressful going on in your life?
Weight Gain
When you're stressed, you release cortisol, which goes straight to your stomach. Want to stay away from the cortisol? Stay away from the stress.
Irregular Periods
Irregular periods can happen whether you're perimenopausal or menopausal, or not. The outside stressors can affect what's going on inside your body.
How to Manage Stress
Get moving. Whether it's walking or yoga, do something that's going to either get your endorphins up or that's going to relax you.
Learn how to say no. Sometimes saying no is the most positive thing we can do.
Do something pleasurable — take a long walk on the beach, read funny books, go to the movies. Do things that are going to release those good chemicals in your body, and that is naturally going to reduce stress.
Get some rest. Sleep does wonders for reducing stress in your life.
