COMMUNITY QUESTION: Experiences with Remifemin or black cohosh?

Bex asks: 'Has anybody tried Remifemin? I just bought some from the pharmacy this morning and thought it would contain plant derived estrogen. I was quite surprised to find it contains NO ESTROGEN and its main ingredient is BLACK COHOSH. Apparently it's been used for 50 years by women in Germany where it is manufactured and their tests report a substantial drop in hot flashes after 4 month's use, starting after about 1 month's use.'

  • I am using a supplement that contains soy, dong quai, and black cohosh. It is made in the US but this company had the binding method tested in Germany. I took if for 5 months and then didn't bother for a couple of months. The hot flashes and night sweats returned. Last friday I received my order and took a capsule right away. Relief was almost immediate. This works for me.
